Hainan Black Tea

Now widely sold abroad, this product is one of China's great black teas. The processed leaves have tan tips highlighted amid the black of the loose leaves. It makes a strong drink with a heavy fragrance. Hainan, the great subtropical island off China's southern coast, has ideal conditions for growing tea, with high mountains and abundant rainfall. Many large tea plantations have been laid out in Hainan in recent decades.
