Green Teas

Zisun (Purple Bamboo Shoot) Tea

A vintage tribute in the Tang dynasty, today this green tea brings a high price on some foreign markets and is also very popular in China. It is named for the appearance of its plump, pointed buds which remind people of bamboo. At plucking time the stalks are pink and the buds white. Zisun is grown on Mt. Guzhu near the southern shore of Lake Taihu in the northernmost part of Zhejiang province. So this clear, yellow-green tea with a sweet aftertaste is also known as Guzhu Zisun or Huzhou Zisun.
